If you didn’t know already, this is a proud wife post. Ben has been running marathons for the last couple years. He ran his first in 2019 for Grand Rapids, MI, following that he did the groundhog marathon in 2020 and since then I guess you could say he can’t stop. Unfortunately the two he signed up for after that were virtual because of COVID. He ran Sleeping bear dunes and the Grand Rapids Marathons last year with Hope Water International. I guess you could say that he was excited to finally have a “real” race. This past week the weather took a turn. We got quite a bit of snow and it wouldn’t stop. I guess you could say that this was not the best scenario for a race. With 16 degrees and wind, not ideal at all. In the words of his race partner Steve, “Remember, you paid for this, you better enjoy it.” After nearly 5 hours they did it! They finished! Saying I’m proud is an understatement.
