Gabrielle and Joseph said “I do” on October 4, 2025, at Hidden Grove Estate, a mid-century modern bed and breakfast and event venue tucked into the woods just outside Lansing, Michigan. I had the pleasure of photographing this day, and it’s easily one of my favorite venues to work at this fall. If you’re a Michigan couple hunting for a wedding venue that feels like a boutique retreat rather than a banquet hall, keep reading. This one deserves a spot on your list.

About Hidden Grove Estate
Hidden Grove Estate is a former inn reimagined by owners Craig and Andrea Kleiver into a mid-century modern bed and breakfast and event venue, just minutes from downtown Williamston and about 20 minutes from Lansing. The estate blends vintage character with clean, modern spaces. Think stone pillars, black-framed windows, and warm wood accents throughout.
Couples getting married here have their pick of distinct spaces: the Spruce Suite for getting ready, an arbor ceremony site tucked beside a wooded creek, and White Pine Hall which is a reception room with vaulted wood-beam ceilings and leaf-inspired crystal chandeliers that seats up to 150 guests. Because Hidden Grove Estate doesn’t hold its own liquor license, couples bring in their own bartender or mobile bar service, which gives the whole day a personal, unfussy feel. Gabrielle and Joseph used A&W Mobile Bar for theirs.
Getting Ready in the Spruce Suite
The bride’s morning started in the Spruce Suite, Hidden Grove Estate’s dedicated bridal getting-ready room — a green, wood-paneled space with a steamer closet, vanity area, and plenty of natural light for photos. Gabrielle’s gown hung against the deep green paneling on a custom “Mrs. Beauchamp” hanger, veil pooling on the floor beneath it, while her lace Betsey Johnson heels waited nearby with a handful of white ranunculus.
Across the property, Joseph got ready in a moodier, wood-paneled lounge with a leather sofa and an olive tree in the corner — a nice contrast to the airy bridal suite and a detail I always love finding at a new venue. Classic black tux, bow tie, and a monogrammed flask rounded out his morning.
The Ceremony by the Creek
Hidden Grove Estate’s ceremony site sits at the edge of the property’s wooded creek, framed by a simple white arbor and tall trees just starting to turn for fall. Guests filled rows of black cross-back chairs on the lawn in a wide semicircle, and the aisle opened up to views of the water and woods beyond the arbor — it’s one of the more naturally beautiful ceremony backdrops I’ve photographed in mid-Michigan.
Gabrielle and Joseph exchanged personal vows from matching keepsake vow books before sealing it with their first kiss as guests applauded from their seats — genuinely one of my favorite moments of the whole day.
Reception in White Pine Hall
The reception moved into White Pine Hall, where round tables in crisp white linens were dressed with brown ribbon runners, tall ivory and burnt-orange floral centerpieces, and gold chiavari chairs. Overhead, three exposed wood beams and a pair of crystal chandeliers gave the whole room a warm, elevated glow once the sun went down. A hand-lettered bar menu greeted guests near the entrance, and the night closed out with toasts, dancing, and a lot of champagne.
