What is your shooting style?

Our team loves being both interactive and discreet throughout the wedding day. There will be parts of the wedding day when we will need to be in control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done while staying on schedule. There will also be moments when you shouldn’t even know that we're there. (The ceremony, during dances and toasts, etc.) We teach our couples how to pose, model and interact during their portrait time to create beautiful memories where they are having fun.

HOW DO WE BOOK WITH KHP?

Once we have answered any questions you may have and you have decided that our Wedding Experience is exactly what you’re looking for on your wedding day, the next step is a booking proposal. We will create an online proposal that will walk you through the package and when you’re ready you can save your date by signing your contract and paying your retainer online. 

What if I want my planner to handle everything?

We totally understand! If you’d prefer your planner to manage the details, we’re happy to work with them directly to ensure everything runs smoothly. However, I do recommend at least one meeting with me—especially if you don’t do an engagement session. This helps me get to know you better, so when portrait time arrives on your wedding day, I’ll know how the two of you interact, ensuring the photos reflect your natural connection.

Do you travel for engagement sessions? When should we do them?

We love it when our couples ask us to photograph them in a location that means something special to them! we recommend booking engagement sessions no less than 3 months from your wedding date to avoid stress. Our engagement sessions are captured by a Kara Hanes team member with you in mind. This could mean one located closer to you whether it's Kara herself or one of the associates. 

How do we receive our products?

Prior to your wedding we will set up a sales call or in person meeting where you'll be seeing your images for the first time. At this call you will get to enjoy seeing your images for the first time and order any additional products you like. In addition to this you'll leave this call with a digital download of all your photos averaging 900-1000 images.

How many hours do we need for our celebration?

We're often asked if 9-10 hours is enough time to capture the full wedding. This really depends on what you want covered. If you have multiple locations and choose to see each other for the first time at your ceremony this can prolong the hours and you may need more than 10 hours to cover everything from details and getting ready to a couple minutes of party dancing. If you find you need more coverage as we approach your day we can add more at the time. If you want an exit captured you'll want to add an additional hour or two.

Do you carry liability insurance?

Sometimes wedding venues want vendors to show proof of liability insurance (A COI- Certificate of Insurance Liability) If your venue needs this please give us a minimum of 48 business hours to provide it to your venue.

How do you handle payments and when are they due?

I get the question a lot so I'm happy to answer it for you. Based on your selection you will be required to pay a 30% retainer upon booking and the remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to your date. All of our couples are able to log into a client portal and apply any amount big or small prior to that two weeks. If they want to drop a certain amount of money every so often that is at their discretion. Checks would need to be received on or before that due date however an electronic payment is an option.

Do you offer drone photography?

Some of our associate photographers carry a remote pilots license but not all of them. This is a complimentary service if you get one of these associates for your wedding but factors could vary based on weather and location.
