I debated on sharing these photos because I really wanted to cherish them for as long as I could and keep them to myself. However I know how much easier it is to trust a photographer that shares themselves with their clients. It’s much easier to create relationships when you share life together so I want to invite you in and share a little bit of my family with you and give you a peek into who we are.
Ben is my husband of nearly 15 years. We started dating when the two of us were still in high school and have known each other for almost 2 decades which means we’ve been together more of our lives than we have been apart. People say that high school relationships don’t last but we’re here to prove them wrong. It’s not easy and we’re no relationship expert but it is possible. Ben is currently training for marathons and his first olympic triathlon before he turns 36. His determination is inspiring to me. He’s the best dad and partner in life. He is definitely my counter part and fills all that I lack in.
Caleb, our first born turned 13 this past year. As he gets older and older I find he is more and more fun. His kind heart and compassion for others is what I strive to be. There are days where I have no idea how my little boy could be a young man so fast but his jokes and conversations get better and better.
Naomi is our 11 year old spit fire. She challenges me more than anyone I have ever known but loves just the same. She’s creative, loves animals, and has a voice that will stop you in your tracks and make you want to hear more (that is if she’ll let you). This past year has been most challenging for her in many ways but we’re so proud of the way she bounces back and learns from it.
Lastly this brings me to our 14 year old Shih Tzu Phoebe. She has slowed way down in the last year and we are cherishing all the days we have with her. She no longer likes to go for walks or play catch but makes up for it with constant snuggles in the night and during the day. She sleeps more than she’s awake but is literally our own personal teddy bear.
This last year has taught us all to cherish our time together and how to spend more time being present and active instead of spending time doing our own things. Some of our favorite things to do together are riding bikes, going for candy and ice cream runs, playing games, camping or taking walks through the neighborhood.
A special shout out to Michelle Kristine Photography that captured these photos I will forever cherish.
xoxo, Kara
