Dwight and Kathie

Oh this wedding day! What a beautiful Michigan feel. I am so excited to share this wedding with you because it is my first official wedding for 2021. It all happened at the gorgeous Gathering LLC in Allegan, Michigan. I walked in and was in awe of all the beautiful hand crafted pieces that were present throughout the entire venue.

Shortly after I arrived I met with all of Kathie’s amazing bridesmaids as they settled into the bridal suite. It was so special that most of Dwight and Kathie’s wedding party were their own children. For those of you who don’t know Kathie let me tell you about her. She is so sweet and is always worrying that someone is having a good time, the perfect hostess -even on her wedding day. The hardest part for her on this day was staying in hiding until the ceremony instead of greeting each of their guests.

Dwight, he is quiet but will surprise you when you least expect it (I learned this when he broke out his dance moves later at the reception). What is extremely apparent is how much he cares for Kathie and takes care of her. He puts her needs first. It was such a treasure to watch his reaction the moment he saw her during the first look. I am a sucker for this moment because it’s the most intimate part of the wedding day. I always tell my couples that this is highly suggested because it takes the pressure of everyone staring at you and allows you to have time alone, without your guests, wedding party, and all the preparations. Guys, it’s the moment where you can tell your bride she is smok’n hot without Grandma in the front row. How does that sound?

As you begin scrolling you’ll notice some very special elements for Kathie and her family. Although Kathie’s father could not be there his presence was felt throughout the day. From his pocket watch that Dwight held onto to the 57 Chevy that was just like the one he used to own. It was a moment that Kathie will forever treasure.

I hope you love this beautiful day. I felt like this wedding was such a beautiful way to end July and I’m so proud of their portraits. Dwight and Kathie I want to thank you for allowing me to be your photographer and I hope you treasure these for years to come.
