Weeks ago Holly reached out to me and mentioned that she wanted to take a moment to document her mom along with her sister and daughters. Holly said one of her daughters saw photos of a “Golden Girl” session and she wanted to have that experience too. Now, I had never heard of this official name as a session. However It reminded me of the times where my late Grandma and I would snuggle up with popcorn and watch the Golden Girls on TV – Hello 80s. I didn’t find it funny back then but I did love spending time with her. Thinking back on it I wish I could spend one more time listening to her laugh as she would toss a piece a popcorn at me.
When I met up with these ladies it was pretty chilly and windy at Holland State Park so we decided to head down the channel a bit and find somewhere along the Macatawa bay that wouldn’t be blowing their hair all over and this place was perfect. The moment I began the session with Sharon I knew she was something special. She kept us on our toes. She’s a little spitfire who could instantly make you laugh because she would say whatever was on her mind. A modern day Sophia if I do say so myself. She had us rolling which brought out each and everyone of their natural smiles. This wasn’t nearly as great as the moment when we departed I felt like I was just one of the girls as we hugged goodbye after only meeting them 20 minutes before. For a mere second I was able to remember sitting with Grandma, eating popcorn once again, so thank you ladies. I had a wonderful time and I hope these memories stand the test of time.
