All Seniors, Senior

Kaia Thatcher

When you think about high school I’m not sure what memories you think of or aspirations. For me I think back to walking through the hallways with my best friends and meeting at our lockers to talk about life. Once high school is done it takes work to keep in touch. One thing is certain, true friendship lasts. I have two pieces of advice that I want to give high schoolers. The first is to be kind because later in life you never know  how relationships can evolve. The second, invest and stay true to the friendships that matter. A lot of times we’re thinking only of ourselves and really true friendships are putting others first. Relationships are a two way street and you have to work hard at it.

If you haven’t noticed a trend in my last couple blog posts, I’m here to tell you that Kaia is another one of the amazing girls I’ve had the privilege of mentoring for the last several years. This is the final year before they all spread their wings and try to figure it out life for themselves. I don’t take the credit for where they are today I’m just saying that it’s been such an honor to watch those like Kaia grow into beautiful women and finding out who they are.

If you don’t know Kaia I’m here to tell you that she has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard (Look out Lauren Dangle). Music has a way of speaking to her and she is mighty gifted in it. Listening to her has a way of bringing me to tears and dare I say I might be one of her biggest fans. So, if someday you end up hearing her on the radio, you’ll be glad I introduced you!

Kaia my hope for you is to spread your wings and know that God is in control. Life will be hard but you have everything you need at your fingertips. Enjoy this last year at Hudsonville. I can’t wait to see where life takes you!

Post a comment or piece of advice to Kaia below. Once we reach 25 I’ll be gifting her an 8×10 print of her favorite portrait from this session.
